Generally available: You can create a standard or archive snapshot of a disk and protect the snapshot with a customer-managed encryption key (CMEK), even if the source disk isn't protected with a CMEK. If the source disk is protected with a CMEK, then you can use a different CMEK to encrypt the new snapshot.
