CloudScoop ("we", "our", or "us") operates cloudscoop.io. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

If you subscribe to our email digest, we collect your email address. We use it solely to send you cloud update summaries and service announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

Information collected automatically

When you visit CloudScoop, our hosting provider may log standard server data such as your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used for security and performance monitoring and is not sold or shared with third parties.

We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-site advertising cookies.

2. How we use your information

• To send email digests you have subscribed to
• To monitor and improve site performance and reliability
• To detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.

3. Data sources

CloudScoop aggregates publicly available information from official cloud provider sources including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. No personal data is collected from those sources.

We maintain a LinkedIn company page and use LinkedIn APIs to publish update summaries. This does not involve collecting personal data from LinkedIn users.

4. Cookies

CloudScoop uses minimal cookies required for the site to function (e.g. session state). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

5. Data retention

Email addresses are retained for as long as you are subscribed. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to restrict or object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

7. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate CloudScoop:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
• Vercel — website hosting and edge delivery. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

8. Children's privacy

CloudScoop is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of CloudScoop after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
